This time last week I was excitedly planning a ‘road trip’ to Bristol in collaboration with Laura Ashley
I had been very lucky to receive an invitation to attend a day of crafting with Laura Ashley and some other crafty bloggers.
To me this sounded like the perfect way to spend a Sunday as it would involve a few of my favourite things ie. crafting and meeting other bloggers. The icing on the cake however, involved fabric and not just any fabric oh noo.. we were going to use Laura Ashley’s spring summer 2015 range of fabrics and wallpapers, be still my beating heart!
The event was to be held in the centre of Bristol at an amazing venue called @ Bristol. A science Museum!
On arrival we were met by Julie a clever crafter from The Crafty Hen.
Julie was to be our crafting guru for the day…
The morning session consisted of covering notebooks with beautiful fabric and wallpaper….
Although we were all using the same fabrics, every notebook was unique and it was fascinating to see a personal style reflected in each different make…
Lunch was provided and taken ‘al fresco’ on the roof terrace, which provided amazing views over the city of Bristol. I was chatting so much I forgot to take pics of the views!
I did however manage a pic of the cheeky and rather large seagull that kept an eye on us all as we ate!
The afternoon session was devoted to accessories and based on the traditional Suffolk puff.
Again the variety of differing styles all crafted from the same fabrics was a wonder to behold.
I made a hair grip, but I am using it as a book mark, for my Laura Ashley Catalogue…
The Fabric I used was the new Orchid Apple
At the end of a hard days craft, we had a group photo session out on the terrace….
