Lazy Daisy Jones

Blogging Interiors Lifestyle

How my blog got its name.

I am often asked where my blog name ‘Lazy Daisy Jones’ came from and why?
I have to admit it is not actually my name.
I literally plucked it from the air, I did not plan it, I did not even make a list and I love lists!

This then is my answer:

It was a hot July afternoon. I had been outside gardening and feeling hot and bothered, had come inside to cool down. I made myself a chilled glass of elderflower cordial and sat down at the computer to read a few of my favourite blogs. I had just taught myself to crochet and loved making amigurumi monsters and critters…

There and then I decided to start my own blog!

I  realised I needed a name and as I had just been pulling daisies up from the lawn ‘Daisy’ immediately sprang to mind.
Because I sew I knew that ‘Lazy Daisy’ was an embroidery stitch,  so I entered that as a name in blogger to be promptly informed that the name was taken, I then realised if I added another name ‘lazy daisy’  would become a person. I looked across the room and my eye alighted upon my beautiful vintage Jones treadle sewing machine….

Lazy Daisy Jones was born 16th july 2012 . She will be three years old this year. Time flies when you are having fun.

In case you were wondering you can read that first blog post here here … short but sweet.

How did your blog get its name.? Did you plan it or did it just come to be, what’s your story?
