Sewing for men 2015 challenge: Mr February, Thread Theory Finlayson.
May I present to you a ‘man sew’ for February. The second of the twelve challenges I have set for myself in 2015. To sew a garment for my ‘talented other half’ every month.
The Image:
I give you Mr February: he is an outdoors type, hence the rucksack and the dog. He is not afraid of mud. Loves to go hiking down by the river on a typical colourless February afternoon…
He is wearing the ‘Finlayson’ sweater by Thread Theory .
The Reality
No wonder this ‘man sew’ has taken so long to be revealed. I did not enjoy sewing it! I digressed from the task at every opportunity, I constantly became distracted by new patterns and fabrics.
The actual sewing was easy peasy and the sweater is fine, all round a good sew.
BUT the pdf was huge and very boring to prepare.
My other half is tall, I cut the extra large size (even though he is a Large) a perfect fit, because he likes the looser fit and longer arms.
He has pronounced it ‘comfy’ and is wearing it again today.
