A Year Of Sewing For Men February Thread Theory Finlayson
May I present to you the ‘man sew’ for February. I made a Thread Theory. Finlayson top. I am on a sewing mission. To put it simply, I aim to sew one garment for my other half, every month. So far so good.

Thread Theory Finlayson
Meet Mr February, he is an outdoors type, hence the rucksack and the dog. He is not afraid of mud. Loves to go hiking down by the river on a typical colourless February afternoon. Enjoys wearing the ‘Finlayson’ sweater by Thread Theory .
Pattern Details: I used my overlocker for the whole sew. there is notheing complicated everything fits together perfectly. In my opinion it comes up slightly large so I advise to size down. I cut a 44 chest size, he wears a 44 in jackets and is tall, he likes long sleeves to be long sleeves not riding up his arms. As I wanted him to wear this as an outer layer over t-shirts I thought it would be fine. However next time I will cut a 42. I used a medium to heavy weight jersey fabric, suitable for sweatshirts and not a knit fabric. I id not add ribbing to cuffs and band choosing to use the same fabric, next time I will as they needed to be tighter overall.
The shawl neck looks more complicated than it is, therefore I would happily recommend Thread theory Finlayson pattern for any one who has already sewn with knits and has experience with stretch fabrics.
The Reality of PDF Sewing With The thread theory Finlayson Pattern
I digressed from the task at every opportunity, I constantly became distracted by new patterns and fabrics. The actual sewing was easy and the sweater is fine, all round a good sew. BUT the pdf was huge and very boring to prepare.
He has pronounced it ‘comfy’ and is wearing it again today.
