Do you love instagram as much as I do? I cannot keep off it….really I am trying to restrict myself to twice a day, at coffee break times! Here then are a few examples of my instagram life recently and what I’ve been posting and chatting about….
Instagram Life recently:
I tidied the wardrobe I use as fabric storage in my sewing room, by hanging some of the larger fabric pieces, so easy to see what you have….
My other half finished his spanner bench..he had a few old rusty pieces of bench ends that we bought for about 3 pounds at a boot fair last year. He completely restored it and made a seat from old spanners! taa dah….
I had a huge tidy up of the book shelves and the books.
I got rid of lots and lots of books, all now packed and ready to sell at a boot fair very soon.
A close up of some of the books I kept!
I made a new pair of pyjama bottoms to refresh my pyjama sewing skills, then taught eight lovely ladies how to sew them at Butterfly Bright in Sherborne, we had lots of fun.
I found these two patterns in my collection, I am sure sewist will recognise the one on the left, these patterns were the subject of some very heated discussions on insta recently.
Back to the subject of Spring again. I washed and pegged all the winter ‘snuggle’ blankets on the line to dry, posted this gorgeous, colourful picture, about birds singing and blue skies…
and seconds later it rained and hailed down!
I ‘jinxed the weather again!
My thoughts about etiquette on instagram recently…
- The biggest is this: please don’t have a conversation based around someone’s picture without acknowledging them.
- It is like standing with three people and only talking to one other whilst completely ignoring the third. I am sure none of us would do it in real life?
- Personally I do not follow someone just because they follow me. I believe this is the practice of a ‘follow for a follow’ (f4f) so annoying.
- Sometimes I get bored of one person posting the same type of images over and over, so I press ‘unfollow’ … it is not personal, I am just bored, I crave inspiration.
What do you think?…I would love to know.
