Crochet granny slouchy socks in Rowan Pure Wool from Butterfly Bright.
I spied these socks in Simply Crochet Issue 26, fell in love with them, and promptly moved them to the top of my ‘want to crochet’ list….
The right moment presented itself ie. a rainy night in, with the tv on the toh beside me and a toasty warm log fire = the perfect opportunity to start a new crochet project right?
The first one of 2015 actually.
Yarn details and stockist:
I used Rowan Pure wool Dk available from Butterfly Bright, my new favourite ‘go to’ shop for yarn and fabric, they have a delicious choice of colours in store.
Based in the pretty town Sherborne , well worth a visit so do pop in and say hello from me, if you are in the area.
I settled on these three shades:
A grape mauve, a darker purple and a bright mustard yellow.
This yarn is a joy to work with….no splitty bits, soft as silk and works up quickly and easily.
I found the pattern simple to follow but had to concentrate a bit more when working the heel!
The minute I had finished photographing I put them on with my slippers…very glam!
They were soft and cosy and kept me warm all day…..
A confession! I was so eager to wear them I did not weave in the ends, you may be able to spot a few poking through? Oops
I bet you are looking for them now??
I can highly recommend this pattern and this yarn…they go together like tea and cake!
…..anyone else made or planning to make these yet?
