Lazy Daisy Jones

Create Interiors

A diy idea for instant vintage art!

As it is the start of a new year I am trying to tick a few things off a list that has been around for ages…

I sure you have one too….these are lists of things that you need or must have done, but they all depend on funding…. they need £’s or $’s to make them happen!….

Such as my pile of prints, paintings and tapestries. They all need framing in order to protect and display them.

BUT:

Have you noticed how very expensive it is to get anything framed by a framer these days?

Soooooooo expensive, I was horrified.

Hence my enquiry at the local framers, and the list alterations. (see no.3.)

I simply am not prepared to pay those prices.

Talented other half to the rescue yet Again…and yes I did ask very politely.

He measured everything I needed framing, listened very patiently to what I wanted, made a list of colours and then disappeared for a few hours….

He came back later with my first request, a pair of wooden open frames that I could stretch my ‘kitschy’ oil canvas over….

and one for my vintage tapestry an ‘alpine scene’  (which by the way I did not sew, it was a thrifty find from last year.)

Now it is my turn…I have located my trusty staple gun. Time for me to do it myself I think?

A bit of stretching and pulling is needed….

but the end result is worth it…

…now to find the perfect spot to display them….

On the ‘Alpine’ themed picture shelf I think…(toh made that picture shelf its from an off cut of mahogany..a beautiful coloured wood)

What do you think? Money well saved I think!

My Toh meanwhile is painting and altering old frames to fit new prints and old posters….more pics to follow..

Bestest

I always appreciate a share!
