Lazy Daisy Jones

Interiors

The first task of the new year: the numbers!

Its has been the same every year since January 2010.

That is when we began this idea…..

In the kitchen, on the wall, in very large and colourful numbers, we have the year date displayed.

Hence every new year a new number is needed. Can you guess who makes them?

Not me! oh noooo….. I deal in fabric, yarn, ideas and blogging.

My talented other half of course! he deals in paint and wood and metal and perfection and that takes patience and time. Both of those I am usually short of…..

You can read about the ‘four’ from last year in this post HERE

Back to this year…

This is how he does it: first his design is drawn onto perspex,

then it is cut out with a jigsaw …..a jigsaw is a very useful thing to have you know?

and then filed to a smooth finish……I encourage the art of smooth finishing by supplying smooth but strong coffee!

Next, it it has its own little hook glued on to the back: he makes the hooks himself…did I tell you he was talented?

Finally it has a very glossy, expertly applied paint finish ….and

…it joins its ‘friends’  on the wall in our kitchen.

The old numbers are ‘retired’ to a randomly ordered display in the hallway…..

Do you have the date on your wall? It comes in handy for photos…no arguing as to when the pics were taken!

bestest to you and yours

Ps Sherrie the cat was helping with the photos yesterday she is becoming rather the expert  at ‘photo bombing’…

I always appreciate a share!
