My year of sewing in 2014, a review
Last year in 2013 I promised myself I would make actual garments for wearing, by myself or by my family. I wanted to buy less clothes from the shops,This year I did it!…..
(…..apart from. my 13 year old son who would be horrified by a ‘Mum made garment’ but he has agreed to fleece pj’s which are in the making! ) I give you my year in ‘sews’ In no particular order…
Five Coco’s yes five!! (count ’em?) from Tilly and the buttons
This pattern came free with Love sewing magazine
Which led to “OWOP 2014” a whole week of sewing from one pattern and wearing it!
Lots of fun but hard work! you can read about my week HERE
Two Hotch-potch blouses….
Next a T-shirt that I love so much, its a bit worn out. So I now wear it with the Pj bottoms for ‘lounging around’
A ‘kate dress’ by sew me something!
Some bits and bobs, cushions and Frozen costumes for a friends little girl…
I made a “Francois”
Then of course there has been the more recent ‘man sews’
My ‘Sewing for men” projects will be featuring on the blog next year…I have challenged myself to make at least one garment a month for my man….afterall he makes so much for me…its only fair I think!!
I will be taking a blogging break for a week to enjoy the festivities.
You can see what I’m up to if you follow me on instagram HERE
See you soon…I’m waving!
Have a lovely christmas…have you been good this year?
