I adore this poncho and have worn it many many times…..
It was love at first sight for me….have you seen….that Poncho from Simply crochet issue 25…?
Chunky yarn, a quick make and a new ‘ribbing effect’ to learn on the delightfully cosy looking cowl neck.
I liked the colours in the original, but I do like to put my own personality on a pattern, hence the colour change….
I did however stick to the neutral ‘parchment’ colour for the cowl neck, border and tassels, this way I can wear it with most things…..
The tassels were fiddly but worth it….I think
(I have noticed lots of ‘tassely trendy, things in the expensive shops…..)
The sun was out in my sewing room when I took these pictures….makes such a difference, so cheery.
so here it is….my granny poncho…so similar to the one my Mum made me when I was 7!!
A confession …..I have to admit, if I pull back the camera…….only half the tassels are finished…oops
I will finish it later and get the other half to takes some pics of me prancing around in it.
You can see the one my Mum made me HERE I posted about it in January this year….
You can read about the finished poncho HERE
