Organising ideas….my sewing scrapbook
I am scatty, no doubt about it.
I have many ideas, but my memory as ‘grow up’ (oh yes, I grow up I do not grow older!) gets worse with every passing year.
So how to keep those inspiring ideas from slipping through my sieve like brain?
I tried lists…
But……….I lose them, or put them ‘somewhere safe” and forget where I put them!
I love notebooks, I have one in my sewing room, one or two in my handbag, one for work,
but uh oh! too many, and you guessed it they are never ever where they should be when I want them.
Back to the ideas, there are days when I have a lot of ideas; sewing, making, recycling, decorating, colours I’m sure its the same for you too?
So how to keep track of them, in order to revisit them when you have time?
This is how I did it.
My sewing ideas are the most numerous, of course they are I live to sew…
I needed somewhere to record my future makes and fabric idea…
I made a sewing ideas scrapbook.
It was inspired by the ‘uber talented Mrs Bertimus.’ after attending one of her fab workshops.
Mrs B had showed us one of her beautiful journals. Now mine is nothing like hers, its just a
Sewing Book that contains my ideas and inspirations. It is childlike, it is messy but thats the trick…..
to not worry about what it looks like!
Just get the ideas down and scribble some plans…
Put the passion on the pages.
I have kept it up for a year now, its not a chore its fun and quick, an ‘aide de memoir’
It really works for me, so I made another….!
Because I am ‘growing up’ not older….are you?
