Daisy sews OWOP, Day one: a bird blouse!
OWOP: or
‘One week one pattern,’ A week of wearing one pattern in many different ways.
My choice is a 1967 vintage Simplicity dress pattern no. 6965.
you can read more about the reasons I chose this pattern HERE
Yesterday was Day 1: I popped into work. It was very hot, so I decided on a casual approach .
I ‘hacked’ the dress pattern: took it in, shortened it…. and behold!
…. a blouse in a pretty “birdy’ pattern cotton.
One sleeve…..
…two sleeves….
……and at last we have a blouse…..
My Boss took these pictures…
I had to explain what I was doing and that I needed a photographer.
He is a jolly good sport!
I inserted a ‘dress zip’ at the back in a bright yellow to coordinate with the ‘blue tits’ in the fabric!
The blouse being 100% cotton was a good choice for this late summer day, it was 23 degrees by afternoon.
I work in a beautiful building in a beautiful town….
PS. I had just had a tooth extracted so it hurt to smile….!!
and I love my job!
lucky or what?
Now I am off to see if anyone else is doing owop posts today!
