Margot Pj’s my first make from Love at first stitch by Tilly and the Buttons plus a pocket tutorial!
Is there anyone who sews who still does not have this book?
I cannot recommend it enough. Tilly’s teaching skills are superb (in my opinion!)
At last, I have had time to read it and sew something using the patterns supplied with the book.
I chose to start at the beginning with the Margot Pyjamas.
Actually I made two pairs!
The pattern has two main pieces. I chose to add a single back patch pocket to each pair.
This is how I like to make my pockets….
The advantages of this method are that the pockets are sturdier, easier to sew on and are much neater on the reverse of the pocket……like this….
Of course you cannot make a double sided pocket if your fabric is too thick.
Here are my finished pockets….
….the second pair has a pocket with an inverted pleat.
I used ribbons for the drawstring waist….pretty and easier than making your own ties…
……so there you have it!
Pyjamas galore….the boys in the house are now requesting pairs too!!
and a pic of me wearing them cos I know you will ask…!!
thanks Tilly I think you are the bees knees or the cats pyjamas!!
bestest sewing wishes to you all…..
