Once a month I make an effort get up early for a boot fair.
This is a real effort because I am not a morning person.
Although I do love breakfast…mmmm homemade marmalade on toast.
We have a lot in our area. but I only bother getting up for a couple.
One of my absolute favourite is held in the grounds of a national trust property down the road from us.
This (above) is the boot Fair.
Below you will find some of my treasures.
Some old books …..
Vintage ric-rac and ‘Daisy’ cotton trims
I have this needlework book already, but this issue still retains its original dust jacket!
Gorgeous old soft toy patterns I have my eye on that camel!
Interesting 1970’s craft books…they have the original template patterns in them watch this space…!
…general sewing stuff and more books!
When I was young we played with these in the back of the car on long journeys.
Pocket solitaire….no screens then!
My wonderful ‘talented other half’ bought me this!
…it is to add to my collection of toy plastic sewing machines, it even has a foot pedal and a teeny tiny
Now for some updated lamp love as promised….
Do you remember my ‘toh’ upcycled this lamp stand…?
I posted about it
I’ve been attempting phase two of our upcycled lamp, all bymyself.
The shade used to look like this…..
now it looks like this…
I’ll show you a ‘before and after’ pic, I know you like them!
I used this lovely stuff, and added some ric-rac.
Hardly any sewing was involved, but an awful lot of stretching, pinning and hand sewing was.
I even lined it, using a crisp white cotton fabric … proper job.
I had very sore pinpricked fingers by the time I finished…
It was so hot I even took it outside to add the ‘garnishes’….
Did you spot the cat?
More pinning….and hand sewing.
until finally….(a before and after merge…)
Still a tiny bit of sewing left to do…!
