Lazy Daisy Jones

Sewing

My kate dress by sew me something.

I sent off for this lovely pattern recently pattern and gave it a go.

It can be made up very simply or it can be made even more detailed by adding sleeves and pockets.

I would say that is the beauty of this pattern, it is your choice.

I chose to add two pockets, and sewed the three quarter length sleeves version.

I also made my own bias binding….there are many tutorials on line if you fancy doing he same?

I bound the neckline, the pockets, the sleeves and added a wider band at the hem

Its a fun thing to do and makes the perfect finishing touch.

I overlocked all my seams its so quick to make anything these days with the handy dandy overlocker

In conclusion….

I altered the back as it was very baggy on me. I added a small elastic piece to give me/it more of a waist.

I constructed the pockets differently from the pattern.

Next time I will cut it all a lot smaller.

I used fabric that I had a lot of, in case I messed it up! so this was a trial run for me.

The next one?

Yes there will be a next one because I am sorry that my kate dress is now in the wash and I miss her.

Thats when you know its a hit…

I am planning brighter and more floral for my next one.

Would you like to see it?

f you have made and blogged about it let me know, I will pop over to your blogs I would love to see some other versions….
