Upcycling old towels into new friends…. a Turban style how to!

Mostly I blog my makes and ideas, sometimes I dont. This one is from BB (before blogging)

It is such a simple idea it did not occur to me that anyone would be interested in it!

Maybe you all do it already?

As most ideas do it came about by accident and necessity.

Do you have long hair? I do.

I rarely blow dry it and leave it to dry naturally to avoid damaging the ends.

Therefore after a shower, as it drys it drips on my clothes, no matter how much I towel dry it.

I used to wrap a towel around my head but they always fell off, being too bulky.

One day whilst wearing an old towel on my head that had fallen off yet again, I angrily tore it up into a smaller piece and wrapped it back on my head!

Eureka!!

So here it is a little how to on what I do with old towels.

Turban style!

You will need

I old towel or piece of toweling, a largish button, small piece of elastic, paper to draw a rectangle on.

I am using some vintage toweling fabric I have been saving for this…

In case you are wondering…edge stitching is better than a hem because it dries quicker.

How to wear your new turban…

you should now look like this…

or this….!?

Go on give it a go why should the dog get all the old towels?

Let me know what you think?
