Sewing my first Coco…

What is a ‘Coco’ ?It is of course the famous pattern for knit fabrics designed by Tilly

from Tilly and the Buttons. blog.

To try out the pattern I used a piece of fleece that I purchased very cheaply last year.

  This way it would not matter if I made a mistake

 and I decided it would make a great ‘loungewear’ top, for lounging around the house!

It is a very easy and very quick pattern to cut out and sew.

Tilly provides simple and clear instructions.

I had help as usual….

She even tried to make a nest on the fleece…cheeky!

As I was taking an ‘almost finished’ photo, she was more than happy to be included…

I couldn’t help adding a label…

So here is my first attempt… 

a trial garment.

It was such fun using the self timer….the dog thought I was playing with him, all that running around!

I recommend this to all of you!

Some notes on Coco.

Next time I plan on making the longer ‘dress’ length version and will wear it as a tunic.

I love the funnel neck, but will make it slightly wider, so it has more of a turnover.

Thinking of adding two large pockets to this fleece version later.
