A vintage Fair tour…
On Monday I visited ‘Vintage at the Village Hall’ a vintagefair held at Blandford Forum’s Corn Exchange.
I know that some of you live far away, and were unable to attend.
Would you like to accompany me on a virtual visit?
Shall we play let’s pretend…and meet at mine, 10am for a coffee kick-off?
First to arrive is my pal Emma, you may know her as the vanilla Squirrel?
Ok, let’s go to the fair….everyone keep up and follow me!
We have arrived at the grand entrance to the Blandford Corn Exchange building where the fair is being held.
Shall we go in….
First stall to catch my ‘magpie’ eye is this one,
I have my eye on that cushion in the front.
(I bought it later)
Look at this basket of tins…..from Dairy House Antiques
lets get a bit closer….
We enter the main hall and are greeted by our gracious host Elaine, look at all the goodies she has to tempt you!
I rush ahead and push through the crowds like a woman obsessed…I spy vintage fabrics
Could that possibly be Donna Flower with her wondrous vintage fabrics for sale?
Yes it is hip hip hooray!
look at all the beauty hanging here…
and this nautical barkcloth gem below …I bought this and have a project started already!
Onwards walking up the aisle, we meet …….Carara designs
I love her cushions and bags.
Up the steps and across to centre stage, keep up! there is a grand birds eye view from up here.
Now I have to rush off again, because I have an apointment to meet up with one of my all time favourite makers.
Made by Swimmer
I commissioned a cushion from them and we agreed I would pick it up from the fair.
I was beyond excited.
Look at this….I could shed a tear it is simply perfect and more than I could have hoped for.
and the details…
Thank you very very much Nicky and Sue.
Watch this space for more on this amazing sister act!
Made by swimmer had a stall next to the lovely Ellie from Jellyjam.
By now I have caught up with Squirrel Emma who has a stash of goodies clutched in her little squirrel paws.
So we move on together…..
Here is the stylishly unique stall (and girl) that is Vintage Jane….
Squirrel found a soldier, she loves them, she told me she has a basket full of them at home
Toy ones silly, not the real real ones!
By now all arms are full and legs are aching.
A surprise has arrived in the nick of time.
It is my darling, talented other half, offering coffee, extra arms and above all more cash!
Thank you, you are my Hero.
Now it is time to think about retiring, purses are empty and the time has flashed by.
At home we place our bags in a pile, stand back and admire….
Would you like to see the fruits of our combined shopping efforts?
Taa daa….whoop whoop
More?
Here is my other new cushion looking very much at home!
Ok thats enough for now…children to pick up and dinners to plan, back to reality.
One more thing to say
“Elaine Thank you for organising ‘Vintage at the Village Hall’ I hope it was as good for you as it was for us all…love ya!”
Did you enjoy it too?
Until we meet again
