linking up with Laura The year in books 2014
I have achieved lot during these grey February days,
I have added to my continuing wip’s even finishing some… I know impressive or what?
I have blogged, I have met Kirstie and been published.
BUT and that is a big BUT
I only just scraped the book a month challenge this month.
I had to force myself to read my chosen book.
When you force yourself to read two things can happen.
Either..
1. You fall into the story and land in a magical place that becomes a haven from the outside world and its many distractions.
or….
2. You plough through a novel that becomes a chore to read. The contents and details of which fail to reach the inner workings and wheels of your imagination. More exciting projects beckon.
I have to admit I read Dodie Smiths ‘I capture the castle’ and fell into trap number 2.
I am so sorry, I know so many of you revere this book, perhaps in the way that I adore Louisa M Alcotts ‘Little Women’? I could happily read it again and again, delighting in the childhood memories it brings back?
So what to read in March
I don’t Know?
Help needed Please
I may return to Donna Tart and ‘the Gold finch?
I may just keep it simple this month
Any suggestions gratefully received.
