It is howling a “hoo-haa” of a storm here in rural Dorset today.
I am thinking positive sunny thoughts and trying very hard to envisage myself sitting in the garden, sipping a chilled glass of something, at the end of a hot and busy summers day.
Its not easy!
Are you with me yet? lets imagine….
You know how it is….the night is young, the day has been long and hot and now in the stillness of the evening, the air has a ‘nip’ in it.
Reluctant to move inside, you rush to find a warm top….and grab what? a tatty fleece? that’s me usually….
but not this year!
I am prepared.
I have something romantic, pretty, soft and warm….
May I present to you my Shawl…. a first for me.
It is a Shawl to wear whilst drinking wine, in the garden on a cool, summers evening.
…and here is Peter modelling it.
For anyone who does not know…
Peter is my knitwear model.
He is a hare.
A very handsome one.
The Crochet Details
I used a large hook 8mm
Scraps of leftover mohair….hence the limited colour palette.
Then simply and loosely crocheted a large granny triangle in trebles.
I added an edge of dc and 4 chain loops in every stitch, around the base.
It came out like a little frill.
Its soft and warm.
Meanwhile I will be wearing it like this whilst watching last night’s GIDC!
brrrrrrr…stay safe everyone.
Ps. update…my arm not 100% but I cannot refrain from crocheting any longer.
