Found a magical new shop… The Squash Court Wimborne.
Last Monday, I had a day out with my dearest pal the vanilla squirrel.
We were wandering around Wimborne town, playing at ‘instagram’ when we received a message from another instagramer…
She told us about a shop called “The squash Court”
we were excited,
we were intrigued!
…..only to find out it was closed on mondays….
We were sad.
Fast forward to Friday the ‘toh’ (talented other half) was called into action and agreed to accompany me on a visit to Wimborne.
I say agreed but actually he was bribed with the promise of tea and cake.
Well….what can I say?
It was stunning, astonishing, gorgeous….
The Squash Court, an old 1930’s converted squash court situated on the edge of the beautiful Deans Court Estate in Wimborne Dorset.
First we popped into the recently opened café, for the promised tea and cake….
We were not disappointed… do you see all the ‘squashes’ around the place…haha always love a pun!
Rustic garden table and benches blended seamlessly with shiny new cups and quirky kitchen accessories.
We love the industrial vintage look, do you?
Home grown delectables from the kitchen garden were being prepared at the counter.
We opted for a pot of tea and cake.
The tea arrived in a rather lovely bloomingville teapot and was accompanied by scrumptious cakes I opted for lemon pollenta and I can recommend it to all!
Next stop the shop,
Camera in hand I crossed the pretty courtyard, dodged the rain and stepped over the threshold into…. heaven.
The view as you enter the shop takes your breath away..it really is beyond beautiful…..
..high ceilings add an airy brightness, complementing the serene atmosphere and lighting up the treasures below.
Everywhere you turn…there are artful displays that tempt you to reach for your purse…
old and new living happily together….warms the soul does it not?
Old objects given recycled new lives……
My favourite….has to be this fabric…..
made my heart break just to look at it…..sadly out of my price range….but there were lots of beauties that weren’t…oops again.
such delectable delights….
and even some crochet!
If you are in Wimborne town anytime soon you must pop in…don’t forget your purse!!
A visit not to be missed!
Thank you Kelly for showing us around…see you sooon no doubt!
….. and by the way I was not asked to reveiw the shop, but what else can you do when your heart is lifted just for awhile on a grey Friday afternoon.
