This is a goody…..promise!
A long, long time ago, over a year ago at least.
Needing storage and being thrifty shoppers, we were at our local boot fair and spied an old ‘g-plan’ chest of drawers.
It looked something like this one:
(that is not ours, because we forgot to take a ‘before’ photo duh!)
Now being great fans of ‘g-plan’ furniture, it was swiftly bought at a bargain price, taken home, cleaned and stored away tidily in the garage.
Where it stayed for a year and a bit!
A year and a bit later.
I had managed to accumulate a huge untidy pile of yarn, crochet books, half finished projects and baskets beside ‘ my’ end of the sofa…bet you have an end like this too?
I was moaning about needing more storage again.
The talented other half (toh) reminded me about the garage full of “unused stuff” and the ‘g-plan’ drawers.
He unearthed them for me to look over…..and do you know? I didn’t like the teak brown colour any-more!
Teak rosewood all very retro I know, but it was not cheerful, I like my furniture to be cheerful these days.
Take it away I said, he happy to have the space, promptly did so.
Matter closed, or so I thought…..
October came and with it my 50th birthday and a rather super duper surprise gift….
A cheerfully glorious, chest of G-plan drawers….
just look at them now….
Mind you someone put in a awful lot of work to get them to this gloriously glossy finish…..
with….
no aerosols here he is a professional!!
can you see your reflection…….!?
Now its my turn….
a bit of playing around with the ‘knick-knacks’
……that’s better?
Here it is, in its permanent position by my side of the sofa.
So what do you think?…..my talented other half is a genius is he not?
Sending very merry bestest festive wishes to you all!
