Crochet Christmas Tree… a simple how to
Would you like to crochet something simple for Christmas?
Maybe a Crochet Christmas tree….
I am assuming you can crochet, I wont be teaching stitches, but if you can crochet a simple double crochet stitch (sc in us terms) then you can make this little tree very easily……
The Details:
I used a size no. 4 crochet hook and all my yarn was a dk.
This is great for using up scraps…
The method:
Chain a ring and then simply double crochet into the ring and then into the stitches, working in the round and increasing slightly by one or two stitches every couple of rounds, depending on the size of your cone……
fit the cone as you go…
…continue in rounds until you reach the end and the ‘tree’ fits the cone from top to bottom
Then stop increasing and check all fits well by trying on the cone for size…., if you are happy continue for a few more rounds without any increase so the tree fits underneath the cone for a few rounds when put back on cone, fasten off and finish off ends
To make the garland:
Simply make a long chain and wrap it around your tree to measure for your desired drape.
Then double crochet twice into each chain along to end.
The garland twists by itself!
Magic!
Add your selected baubles and a chosen ‘topping’ for the tree
Place in a suitable position for all to see and admire.
bestest as ever
Ps. The total cost of this little tree to me, was less than 5 pounds.
