Sewing my handmade wardrobe
So far this year…
I have been a sewer for as long as I can remember.
Yes I too made the garments by (tiny) hand that filled my Tressy/Sindy’s wardrobe.
All patiently hand-sewn from leftover scraps that my Nan gave me…. her newly sewn crimplene dress meant pieces of treasure for Tressy and I!
Now and then, over the years I would desert my first love…sometimes by choice, sometimes by life and living.
This year we got back together again and are having the time of our lives.
I took a vow to make more to wear for myself.
The results so far….
Eight garments and more in the planning…..all made from fabric I had in my stash.
This whole rail cost less than 30 pounds!!
If you are a regular here on lazy daisy Jones you will perhaps recognise a few of these makes?
If not let me recap on some of them for you….
Two skirts inspired by that awesome tv programme the Great British Sewing Bee
Two dresses worn all summer long.
A ’tilly and the buttons’ Blouse
well…. I was off with the fairies to sewing land….happy as can be..tra la la and all that!!
Have you joined in yet?
Bestest sunday wishes everyone…I am relaxing today, are you?
