A vintage fair and my crochet crush
My review of that fair….
On awaking that morning to bright sunshine, I felt like I was six and it was christmas morning!
I really dont know why ‘we’ as in me and the pesky squirrel, were so excited, we have attended many vintage fairs in our time…
I think it was a mixture of reasons: it was in my home town, involving not just vintage, which is one of my loves but also crochet one of my major passions…. (you see Sara Sinaguglia was going to be there too)
and last but not least I knew I would be seeing the real faces behind many of my favourite bloggers, authors, and crafters. The icing on the cake was having Pearl Lowe sign her book.
The sign outside was made from ties…what a super idea!
So where to start?…
I will start with Elaine who organised the whole thing and her other half Ted and just say “A very Big thank you…I hope it was as good for you as it was for me?’
A part view of Elaine’s Stall of treasures….
(It was the first time I had met Elaine…she is very gorgeous and stylish lady!)
Treasure galore and lovely friendly sellers…
Dairy house Antiques and the sublime Lizzie aka washerwoman had outside stalls and the sun shone down on them hurrah…
Quick note Lizzie has her Vintage fair in Frome on Saturday 19th!
…..this is some of Dairy house Antiques beautiful stall….
Inside was a wonderland and I was Alice for the day!!
Vintage lace….
A very big hello to everyone who was there and who follows along with me on this blog, it was lovely to meet you all!!
Vintage willie was there too…isn’t he the cutest??!
We met the lovely Ellie from Jellie Jam at last!!
…..she had her super cute blue shoes on too!!
Ellie’s colourful delights…
Now I do not want to offend any other maker or crafter here…but I simply adored all the makes of the super talented Made by swimmer so much so, I even got my purse out and spent!
Here is the bestest one…its a Prawn cushion!!
I bought this one….sitting next to the squirrel on my sofa…
May I add that the squirrel did her fair share of ‘purchasing’ and bought a divine cardi from the arbiter of style Vintage Jane who had a divine new hairstyle….!
By midday it was time to get Pearl lowes signature and if you have read the Squirrels blog review of the fair you will know we felt a little bashful….?
Needlessly so because…
Pearl is very beautiful, elegant, stylish and nice…jealous moi??
But the highlight of my day..my year even! was Sara….
Sara Sinaguglia my crochet heroine…I actually really do have a crochet crush on her..is that allowed is it cool at my age (I was 50 at the weekend ahem…)??
Apart from being very talented, she was also gracious, genuine, interesting and gorgeous!!!
Sara signed her book for me and Squirrel took a pic of me with my new bestest friend forever!!
soz squirrel…
