A Picture Paints a thousand words: Thrifty Art diy.
Sometimes I become attracted to a photo, it becomes a piece of art to me…….
I have blogged about this before see here
So before I begin….I must say I do not know who these lovely people are!
Photo bought as piece of ‘art’ at local boot fair….
I am a costume obsessed girl, therefore I often buy these pictures as reference for a particular period, style or play.
I just love the girl in green, see her red lipstick?
I also like the colours in the sepia tones and the general pose and ‘air’ of this photo.
A couple of weeks ago when I discovered this photo, I also found the perfect frame to display it.
However it was very tatty and broken and a goldish dirty colour!
Just look at it now on our mantel.
My handy, talented other half sprayed it in my desired colour, fixed it up and supplied a perspex mount in which I could display it.
It is now my new favourite “piece of art”…total cost 2 pounds!
Do you have any thrifty artwork? or would you like to borrow my toh.?
Happy Monday to you all
