As part of my ongoing endeavor to have a wardrobe of handmade(ish) clothes.
I have’ allowed’ myself to include customizing as a category…(a wardrobe makeover must have rules don’t you know)
Would you like to see my first effort?
I will explain how I did it, just in case you fancy having a go too?
So….. assuming you can crochet?
You will need:
A plain jumper old, or new…mine was new, but very cheap a mere 6 pounds.

The 11 year old has been against shopping in this very cheap store recently, due to “slave labour” issues
I told him I was “just looking” whereupon he followed me in.
He had a good look at the till area, declared it “not that bad after all” then proceeded to choose a t-sht with a pug on it for himself.
It dawned on me he had thought the ‘slave labour’ was in store!

…… back to the customizing….
Scraps of yarn with suitable size hook for yarn,
and a few favourite crochet patterns of the mandela, doily or coaster type.
Simply crochet your doilies, coasters or mandelas…take your time, enjoy
Do remember to block them….very important, makes a huge difference to the finished item.
then simply apply and pin onto the plain old/new jumper….
I sewed by hand it was easy and quick.
QUICK TIP:
and thats it…..
I added a motif to the back and front,
and added elbow patches from a coaster pattern to the sleeves…
Front view….
Back view….
Nothing to wear for Autumn?
Customize…
Oh go on give it a go…what do you think?
Bestest to you all
