Its that Steam Fair time of year again…
This is our car park ‘van marker’ flag….crocheted by me of course!
Always at the beginningof September just before school starts
Its the Great Dorset Steam fair!!
A last time, for us all to let off steam perhaps?
It was so dusty yesterday.
This the dust cloud in the car park…
I have picked some general themes….and grouped them in mosaics.
I would hate to bore you with too many images…
♥♥♥
My favourite bus…The Somerset Cider Co. owned and run by Julian Temperly..he is dad to the famous ‘Alice’ who designed Pippa Middleton’s Bridesmaid dress!
Henry her very handsome brother was working the bus cider barrels this year.
Hmmmm….very nice I mean the cider silly! not Henry.
♥♥♥
Nostalgia for Working the old ways….always beautiful,
maybe because we did not have to live it and its harsh conditions.
I also have a few interesting interior shots of some of the ‘real gypsy’ caravans…I think they deserves their own post.
Hats and boots staple Steam Fair wear….alas I wore neither and feet and head suffered.
Dogs they were everywhere…thats ours in the middle!
Children…again they were everywhere!
and last but not least Steam engines…
Everyone always seems happy at the steam fair.
….it has a very special place in my heart because my darling Granddad (no longer with us) used to build replica models of the engines and loved to visit the steam fair..
Nan always came with him.
Here they are years ago…
I like to think I stood near this engine yesterday too…?
Ok here’s hoping all goes well for next week’s start of school term…good luck everyone!
