Quietly, quietly this has crept in to my ‘top five’ of best boot fair buys
Its currently sitting at #5 if you must know.
It cost a whopping Ten pounds….my boot fair limit is usually 5 pounds.
The thing about buying from boot fairs is that you take items home, that you would not go out and purposely buy…Like this Hammock!
Sometimes these things have stories, this swing does….
It used to live in Yorkshire with a lovely family.
Last winter the floods came again.
The tree it was attached to fell down in the storms, it could not cope with all the water and rain.
The lovely family moved south, they fell in love with Dorset (we all do!)
Their new house does not have a tree, they took the swing to be sold at the boot fair.
We have a tree and now we now have a swing too…
We adore it and all rush into the garden to get on it first!
Yesterday they were out, it was mine for an hour…..bliss
The world looks different through the ropes of my swing……
Do you remember the simple joy of swinging through the air and seeing the sky behind your feet…
It sits pleasantly with our homemade log bench.
I think it looks very much at home….
The other half sat in it until late the other night, listening to the toads and hedgehogs snuffling around
Did you see that moon?
He remembered he had a built a hedgehog house last year.
Now re installed in the garden and serving its purpose ….
……feeding two darling baby hogs
The cats cannot get in the house you see the door only admits baby hogs
and they all lived happily ever after
ahhhhh
Off now to sew…will announce giveaway results tomorrow
I also have a tutorial in the planning…watch this space!
