Lazy Daisy Jones

Vintage treasure

That has to have been one of the fastest weeks ever……….?

My weeks run Sun-Sat or so it seems..

SUNDAY

I fell in love with this wonderful,  sad and neglected ‘cat in frame’ last Sunday, and bought it for two pounds…

there were stains….

Stains

and more stains….

and a damaged frame….

But there was also the most….

So last week ‘we’ revamped it….(royal we)

I washed and ironed and did my best to gently remove as many stains as I could…

the talented one sprayed the frame emerald green

(pantone colour of the year!)

then we rehoused him on the picture shelf….adjacent to the Dalas

he was then introduced to some of the other rescued pictures and resprayed frames….

Mission accomplished.

….also picked up this, last Sunday…its Spanish and made from pure wool…

A stunning blanket….

here it is in its new home……

What do you think….I did have to pay five pounds for this one….!

Monday

On Monday, just in time for dress rehearsals phew!

…I finished the last of my 27+ costumes for my sons Primary school….

Can you guess the play?  (clue) it was a musical

Thursday was very exciting!

It was the ‘Talent for Textiles fair’ in Poundbury Dorchester.

The vanillasquirrel and I paired up for a  super morning’s jaunt….

and what a morning it turned out to be!

I met the amazing Lizzie aka The Washerwoman…..

and from her gorgeous, treasure trove of a stall  I purchased….

some fabric, a slate and a large rusty key….more on the key soon!

We met and chatted with the Lovely Alice Roberton from

Homes and Antiques magazine…she wins the award for wearing the loveliest dress of the day!

the squirrel and Alice trading info….

BUT

the stall that captured my imagination and beckoned me silently….(I may also have stopped talking !)

was this one

The Snooty Fox

with amazing antiques and gorgeous unique treasures…..

a slightly macabre puppet….

and ‘Lola’ a restored waxwork figure from france

So beautiful…in some photos she looks alive….

There was so much too see….

and much to inspire….

I have a thing about bows at the moment….show you later?

I recommend you visit this fair if ever it comes to a town near you……

♥♥♥

Then on Friday I received the loveliest surprise!

…..it was from Willie….Do you Know Willie he is  “A legend in Blogland”

along with an invitation to his very special annual event…

He sent me a CINDERELLA LADYBIRD book!!!!!

thank you so so much Willie…cant wait until August!

And then at this mornings Boot fair I found this….

glorious cotton fabric it is a curtain so plenty of it…

oh just too too much….I need to rest

……on this our other bargain from this morning!

……sigh….

Happy hot weekend wishes to you…its summer !!

bestest

I always appreciate a share!
