Meet Big Helga from Helsinki….
She is rather large, very retro-Skandi and rather bright!
I am sure we will be seeing lots of these in blogland over the coming weeks…
She is based on the “folk doll” from the latest issue of Mollie Makes.
I made the small one first using the original pattern supplied in the magazine (approx A4 size)
I then scaled up the pattern and made “Helga”
I used some of my precious stash of skandi fabrics and trims…
Cut pinned and sewed piece by piece, arm by arm,
Until Helga began to emerge…
I changed a few details…….
….her apron has a real pocket
……and a jumbo vintage ric-rac decorative trim……
and a bow at the back
her hair is pale green ric-rac……
and she is BIG……
I am now going back to some gentle crocheting……I have had a tiring week….
…….crocheting is especially easy to do whilst watching the marvelous Don Draper and Roger Stirling….
….sigh…..
Do you like them too?
Bestest weekend wishes…..gosh that was a fast week!
