Hairband diy tutorial….something for the weekend
Would you like a little something for the weekend…..?
Maybe a summer hairband?
I used scraps of fabric and old buckles.
I found all my buckles in charity shops or from old clothes.
Ok lets go!
I can only give you approximate measurements because it needs to fit your head not mine…..
I cut my fabric 50cms long, the width is up to you, I have found wider is more comfy maybe 12cms wide so try 50cms x 12cms first .?
The fabric does not go all the way around your head, the elastic fills the rest of the space….and that you will have to cut to suit your head….allow for stretch and do not make too tight because it ‘pings’ off.
this can be done…..
Then neaten by…..
Handy tip: My forceps are the best tool for turning smaller pieces the right way out.
I bought them on ebay
Nearly done….its very quick!
now attach the elastic like this….
This one is my favourite hairband so far….
….and I have made four.
Tell me know how you get on and please ask questions if you get stuck or let me know if I have missed anything.
This superb idea came from the lovely book ‘Chic on a shoestring’
Bestest weekend wishes
