Sewing a 1960’s Coat in Liberty Tana lawn for Tressy
I wish, wish, wish it was bigger or I was smaller…?
Note the price….3 shillings!
Note the size of the pins compared to the pattern piece?
Here it is ‘hanging up’…
Yes its tiny! ….its for a dollie!
You see I spent all my pounds at The Frome Vintage Fair a couple of weeks ago….and then spied this pattern…
What to do…I had an empty purse?
So I asked my pal ‘Squirrel’ yes that darling girl, you all know as The Vanilla Squirrel to lend me some more pounds and she did!
So squirrel, this 1960’s design liberty tana lawn coat is for you, you can put it in your adorable new dollie
I did pay her back of course…. via the costa coffee way….!
Talking of wardrobes and things…..
…..spot the tiny rail and the hangers to go with it….my talented other half (toh) made that.
He is very Clever…he made it to hang my ‘Pippa’ doll’s clothes on as I wanted to display them, some years ago now.
This coat is really too big for the rail, but I dont have a Barbie to model it for me.
Barbie Sindy Tressy or Pippa?
When I was seven I had a “Tressy” oh how I loved my Tressy…do you remember her?
Oh those rollers….and that hair it used to grow…..
you needed a key…I wish I still had her now.
Were you a Barbie girl?
or a Sindy or a Tressy or maybe even a Pippa with all her friends?
