First the crochet collar then the dress!

Do you ever do this?

I ordered some drops muscat cotton yarn in the wool warehouse sale…

I had no plans or projects. Simply selecting any colour that took my fancy.

Later, reading through an old issue (8) of simply crochet mag, I spotted a collar I have made several times before.

I chose two of my new yarns and hooked it up.

I even found the perfect vintage button ….

Later, in the fabric shop, my eye alighted on some fabric that had the very same tones and it was on sale!

The collar matches the fabric to perfection.

Now I am making a dress to match the collar…..!

Promise to show you soon as I am busy sewing it today.

Very clever idea! I have made that collar for my daughter but as she has never worn it I assume she's not keen. Whilst looking for something else I came across it and started to think about making a plain top to go with it (for myself) – didn't get any further than just a passing thought but you have inspired me to find some co ordinating fabric! Are you planning on sewing the collar to your dress or just to wear it with it? I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. take care, Sam xx

What a sweet little collar! I found a few collars that my old aunties or grandmothers had made years ago. They sit in a box, but one day I'm going to frame them because they're so pretty. Can't wait to see the dress 🙂 Wendy x
